Social links

Social links put your group's other accounts in the footer. You give the platform and the identifier; the full URL is assembled for you.

The Social tab

Social in the group settings lists the links already configured and offers a small form to add another. Twenty-one platforms are supported, from YouTube and Instagram to Mastodon, Bilibili and Patreon. Each link is placed in one of the four footer columns, so the footer stays yours to arrange.

The Social tab, listing configured links with their platform, identifier, footer column and resulting URL, above the add-link form.
The Social tab. The URL column shows what the identifier resolves to.

The fields

Platform
Which service the link points at. The choice decides how the identifier is turned into a URL.
Identifier
Not the full URL - just the part that identifies your account: the username, handle or ID. Mastodon is the exception, where the full handle including the instance is needed.
Location
Which footer column the link lands in: Column 1 to Column 4.
Add / Remove
Add appends the link and it appears in the footer immediately. Remove takes it out; there is no draft state in between.

Check the URL column after adding

The list shows the URL each identifier resolved to. If a link goes somewhere unexpected, the identifier is almost always a full URL that was pasted where a handle belonged.
