An honest comparison for organizers whose group already exists and who mostly pay Meetup to reach their own members.
If your group lives on strangers finding it through Meetup, stay on Meetup - its member pool is what you pay for, and MeetAgain does not have one that size. If your members already know you and come back every week or month, you are paying for reach you no longer need.
On MeetAgain a group pays one price, €6.00 a month, with every feature: recurring events, unlimited members, its own pages and, if you like, its own domain. Members never pay. It is prepaid with no subscription, the code is open source, and you can export everything at any time - or host it yourself for free.

Most groups keep Meetup running for a few weeks and move one event series at a time.
Give the group a name, a description, the languages it speaks and a few lines on what it is for. The description from your Meetup group page is a good start - most organizers copy it over and trim it. A person reads every application, usually within one to three business days, and checks the name against the groups that already exist.
Once it is approved, you top up the group balance: €6.00 a month, paid in advance for one to twelve months, with no subscription that renews on its own. If the balance runs out, the group pauses - nothing is deleted. The group starts with a home page you can edit, and new members wait for your approval until you switch that off.
Weekly, every two weeks, every second Tuesday or every first and third Friday of the month - create the rule once and the dates fill themselves in, months ahead. The rule is shown back as a plain sentence, so you can see at a glance what you set.
Save your regular venues once and pick them from a list. Members RSVP with one click, get a reminder shortly before the event starts, and can subscribe to the group's calendar feed. While the move is still going on, add the RSVPs that came in on Meetup to the head count, so you know how many chairs to book.
Put the group link into your last Meetup event descriptions and into every chat your members are in. The promotion tab makes the pictures for it: a portrait card with your next event for Instagram and other feeds, and a header for a Facebook group that lists your upcoming dates. Event pages can be read without an account, and a shared link shows a preview with title and image. For the venue itself there is a QR code to print.
Optional: the group gets its own address, like yourclub.org, with pages you edit yourself in every language it speaks and your logo at the top. The domain stays with your registrar - you point one DNS record at our server, we check it and approve the change, and you switch over when you are ready. It costs nothing on top of the monthly price. Pick the address early: links and flyers with the old one do not follow the group on their own.
There is no automatic import. Your members join through your group link, which also means each of them agrees to the new place themselves.
No. Members and attendees never pay on MeetAgain.
The code is open source under the EUPL. Export the whole group as one archive and import it into an installation of your own.
No per-member price and no cap on events. Very large groups are reviewed under the fair use policy.
Yes. Each group has its own pages, members and settings, and you switch between them in the admin.
