Berlin's longest-running German-English language exchange, going strong since 2007.

Every Tuesday at Travolta Bar in Kreuzberg, locals, expats, and travellers get together to practise German or English in a relaxed setting. Whether your goal is improving your language skills or simply meeting new people in Berlin, you are very welcome.

What to expect

• Separate tables for German and English, with more added as the evening grows

Language exchange is part of the evening, but the focus is social. Many people come to make friends in Berlin and enjoy conversation. First time? Just say hi to the host and we'll introduce you around.

Many regulars don't RSVP, so turnout is usually higher than the count shows.

Near Görlitzer Bahnhof and Kottbusser Tor. Look for the Australian/EU or German/Berlin flags, or ask the bar staff for the language exchange group.

The bar allows smoking. In summer we usually sit outside, in colder or rainy weather we move inside. Free to attend, just buy a drink.
